If you tell yourself a lie long enough you will start to believe it. If you do it long enough it becomes a habit and almost 50% of our daily living is based on our habits. Our habits are the choices we have created for our selves, and most of those choices present unwanted results.
It’s easy to want something, to feel certain desires, and want to go after your dreams, and yet if it’s so easy to want it, why don’t many people achieve the results they desire? What stops them for achieving their dreams?
The truth is, it’s our thoughts that govern our habits that stop us from achieving what we desire. We are so use to doing things a certain way that when it comes to change, our mind and body shifts into alert mode. For example, think of a time when you were driving to work and on this particular day you were running late, so you decide to take an alternative route because you thought it would get you to work quicker. What was your mind and body telling you? Did it sound something like: “Are you crazy! You’re going to get lost! Great now I’m even more late”. Your mind and body went into alert mode because it was unfamiliar territory and you came out of your comfort zone.
“Everything comes if a man will only wait” – Benjamin Disraeli
This is exactly why most people fail to achieve the goals they set out for themselves, such as weight reduction, getting that dream job, buying that dream house. It’s that unfamiliar response we feel within our body that stops us from moving forward towards success and the only thing that stops us from achieving what we truly desire, is our thoughts and what we tell ourselves.
Have you ever felt the deep need within your soul that you absolutely positively need to act on a certain idea? That idea you thought could change the way people felt, lived and behaved? Only to realise you let that thought slip away. How many thoughts like this have you let slip away? I know that feeling. If I acted on the many thoughts and ideas I had through out my life, by now I would have probably been a millionaire.
“A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it” – Marcus Aurelius
You would agree that we are spiritual beings, we live in a physical body, and we have an intellectual mind. Our spirit is for greater expansion and expression. We have a remarkable ability to achieve what ever we want out of our life. We have the capability to think, and create our lives the way we want them. We can create our reality by simply using our thoughts and imagination. When you really think about this, we truly, us humans, are extraordinary beings.
“The greatest discovery of my generation is that human being can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind” William James
So what stops us from acting and achieving what we desire? We do of course! We get in our own way. When you experience a deep understanding of who you really are and what you are capable of, you will soon learn how to turn your desires into the results you want to achieve in your life.
Our mind was given to us by greater source, to use, create and expand our existence so that we are able to provide service to this well deserved plant. And I would like to remind you to not take that amazing intellect, your incredible mind for granted. The architect of the universe was built so precisely that all you have to do is ask: What do you really want? Once you have figured it out, write it down. Look at it. Read it at least two times per day. Visualise your self in possession of the good that you desire. These thoughts will create a feeling that will produce an action that will provide the results you are after. All this will lift your vibration into high state where you begin to align your self with the greater good. Therein the stages of law of attraction taking its place.
Like Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “We become what we think about all day long”.
The great quote by Buddha: “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become”.
Next time you decide you create a thought, make sure it’s one that serves you. Become conscious of your thoughts by replacing the negative and limiting beliefs with positive thoughts. You can change your thoughts in an instant. Nourish your mind with fruitful thoughts. Practice this until you create the habit of thinking positive only.
Think happy thoughts, become happy 🙂
